What dog breeds are good with cats?

I am planning on buying a puppy - & prefer a German Shepherd but have no idea how the breed is with cats- I’ve researched and researched and have found so many conflicting things. I have a fairly passive 3 year old male cat, and just don’t want a breed who will hurt him. I understand each dog is different, but if raised from a puppy with the cat, what breed has the best chance for a calm household? Thanks!!!
